As a child growing up I always wanted to do the number calling at festivals I attended, festivals were my childhood competition most weekends with my dance school that I grew up in, my students even attend ones I used to attend. Back in 2016 SKSD had a competition team and I wanted to create something for my students to attend, lots of my parents didn't drive back then, and I wanted to give more opportunities to my own students, so WDE was born with our flagship event March festival. My driving force is the children. I want to create an environment where they can flourish while competing. I want every child to shine bright, every school, yes it's a competition but I strongly believe in building people up, you get further by helping your fellow man up. I wanted my ethos to shine through our events, the mindset of building everyones worth up.

From just 1 event back in 2017 we now run 8 events through the year and all have been inspired by my own students, and wanting to give each area of my own school more opportunities to grow, learn, and be built up. Yes my own school does compete with our events as they are the reason I set this up, but I'm a very fair, and honest person and they get treated the same as every other school that attends.

I'm very proud of WDE and our team for what it's creating for the next generation of dancers. We truly wish to embrace our tagline more, give back to our schools and performers.

Come and say hi back stage - That is where you will find me, I love being side stage with the energy of the students, helping build them up ready to go on or support them if they come off a little upset.
